Why are we here?

We’ve observed that the most successful founders are those that can generate compounding momentum through their networks. When people buy into what a founder is doing and what they’re about, it creates incredible momentum that attracts not just capital, but early talent, and critical advisors that can make all the difference. At Community VC, we’ve been developing patterns and systems in how the best founders do this for the past 18 months, and realised there is a massive opportunity for all founders to take advantage of. This is the DNA of the software we’ve developed–take the existing networks founders already possess (no matter the size) and provide the tools to convert their contacts into raving fans and contributors.

Iceberg is software for early-stage founders to activate their networks and build momentum around their businesses’. It’s a founder’s and early stage teams dashboard to identify support opportunities, communicate more effectively, and build confidence with their network.

A CRM specifically built for founders, geared for network building and driven by thoughtful automation to maximise impact. Iceberg supersedes tools like Decksend, Mailchimp, and Airtable for founders to focus their time with the right blend of tools to attract, nurture and activate their extended network. Enabled with thousands of tried-and-tested data-driven templates, displays, and insights. Iceberg will save founders hundreds of hours towards achieving key milestones inc. raising capital. Based on our work to date we expect time to milestone gains of 10x compared than what’s on offer today.

The opportunity is global

Imagine when every one of the 3,500,000 founders who launch new ventures each year, can activate and grow their networks of potential investors, advisors, or evangelists at scale with intent. Founders at-large have been conditioned to believe that speed and reach are worth more than the depth of engagement or health of your network. But this approach is a race to the bottom, where everyone’s sending the same emails, lining up for pitch after pitch and completely missing the vital steps. The fallout hurts, approximately 20% of all early stage ventures fail purely because they don’t find the right level of support to achieve critical early milestones. That’s over 700,000 ventures annually. We’re here to fix that.

Why us?

We’ve built a network of 3000 founders and 26,000 first believers and after many months of intense discovery, testing, and experimentation collaboratively supporting Founders, we have reached an exciting inflection point that marks the next phase of our journey: “Iceberg.” Right now, at (Community VC), all of our active founders including ourselves are successfully (manually) uncovering and nurturing incredible people who become current and potential investors, advisors and evangelists. Our very own first believer group consists of around 50 people we’ve nurtured (from thousands of followers), including platform CEOs who refer deals, current angels, seed investors, proud advocates, experts in various relevant domains inc. software, product, capital raising and many more. We’ve built our own Community VC dream team, who help us with everything we need to continue executing our vision on a weekly basis and to snowball into our next milestone.

Our milestones:

1. Iceberg launch in November 2. Staged launch with 2000 founders 3. Launch with 5200 first believers in the Community VC ecosystem 4. Continue improving our founder Northstar as a 10x improvement for founders capital and support raising outcomes (i.e. beat 140 hours, 6 months and an ambiguous outcome, currently 30 hours, 6 months and $10k for every 3 believers)

CVC will be actively growing it's forum ecosystem to become Australia’s biggest forum for early stage founders. Providing a platform to ask questions and receive feedback from people who love startups. Founders will still be active in the CVC network e.g. forums and private groups, their personal and company profiles will be moved to Iceberg enabling them to attract, nurture and engage their supporters in a new and improved way. The driving force behind the refocus and introduction of a new brand is: a) create clarity and best enable our short and long term growth goals for founders b) retention of what Community VC is and always was meant to be – a community supporting founders to succeed.
